Buckwheat is a fast growing warm season annual, with a maturity time of 55-70 days. Whitetail will browse on the tender shoots and large broadleaves. Buckwheat works great as a soil builder and grows quickly to smother weeds. Buckwheat is not frost tolerant and will terminate with first frost.
