Forestburg switchgrass is a perennial, warm season native grass that grows to heights of 3'-5' feet tall on average but can reach 5'-7' in good soils. Switchgrass takes three years to reach mature height. Forestburg grows best on light or medium textured soils and can tolerate slightly saline and alkaline soils better than other switchgrass varieties. Forestburg is great for whitetail bedding/cover because of it's hardy upright stance all winter long. Forestburg is also great to screen off food plot areas, upland bird habitat, and small game habitat.
